This week the challenge over at Try It On Tuesdays is a Free Choice of project, card, tag, scrapbook page etc.
But, it must be inspired by a poem, which we ask you to include somewhere in your post to share it with everyone.
My piece is inspired by 'If' a poem by Rudyard Kipling. It is spread over a couple of pages in a journal [ a new venture for me]. I used a variety of stamps for the background and used mainly Teabag and Vintage photo distress inks to colour. The main images are by Elusive images and Paper Artsy.
The poem is written in full on the page, but here is the last verse which is my very favourite part.
If
If you cantalk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings-nor loose the common touch,
If neither foes noe loving friends can hurt you.
If all men count with you, but none to much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds'worth of distance to run,
Yours is the earth and everything that's in it,
And-which is more-you'll be a man my son!
by Rudyard Kipling
Please pop over and see the super examples at TioT and thankyou for calling to see mine.
p.s. still having blog problems and cannot get a new background up and running.
Hi Yvonne, lovin' your journal pages, It looks daunting to me having to cover so much space, I only know nursery rhymes guess I'll have to have a think about this challenge to see what I can come up with....if your still having probs you could email my son, hes a bit of a whizz with the techno stuff he may be able to help
