Tuesday Taggers- Christmas in July.

Well this is a first for me, I usually panic about November to make my Christmas cards, so with this one done, I will have to find some good excuses or continue to make a few more.

The papers are last years left overs with Vintage Photo distress ink round the edges. The stamp is a favourite by Inkadinkado, which I embossed then shaded . A left over embellishment and a bit of glitter complete my card.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look

Tag you're It -Inchie

The theme this week is to include an inchie on the tag. After stamping my image twice, I cut an inch block around the bird, coloured using distress inks, Then painted my inchie in glossy accents which, when dry I cracked [this hasnt shown so well on the photo]. The embellishments came from my bits and pieces box.

Hidden Secrets-my first attempt at altering a book

I have always been unhappy with the thought of destroying a book. This one cost me 10p in a junkshop, so I put my doubts aside. The little straw lady became my focus [20p in the junk shop], she was asking to be displayed in a shadowbox.

Many pages were torn out before I stuck the rest together. Cutting the block out was an interesting experience. Now the fun bit, the edges are painted old gold. Gesso to give the suface texture, followed by many layers of starburst stains to colour, before stamping.

Well my book doesnt shut properly and the cover is still work in progress, but I will certainly try this again.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look. Your coments are greatly appreciated.

SummerTime- canvas

The challenge this week at Tuesday Taggers is to create a canvas. One lucky person this week could win the draw which is sponsered by Art from the heart

My canvas is 7x5ins. For the background, I used a Tim Holtz Timeworks mask, spraying it with Starburst stains and Cosmic shimmer. The embellishments I added are metal so I trippled embossed the dragonfly, the word tag says,' inspire', the small clock faces were kindly given to me by Jill from the Stampman on one of my twice yearly visits to this super craft shop.

I will also be entering this piece in the first Stampman fortnightly challenge. which is Anything Goes.

Compedium of Curiosities- Challenge6

The challenge this week at StudioL3 can be found on page 66 of CofC. It is a multimedia collage.

My background is a copy of an old map, which I stencilled over. I used a page from an old French book [I got this for free, but still dont like to tear it up.] to cover my letter and shapes. Also used a stamped image of Mona, wild honey distressed ink, a few bits and pieces that I thought added interest, then, scattered straw distress stickles to highlight the letters.

Tag you're It- Black, white, with a touch of gold.

This weeks challenge at Tag you're It is Black and White, with a touch of gold.

My tag "Faithful Friend" was made using plain card, and Black Staz on ink. The main image is from the Joanna Sheen, Jane Netley Mayhew collection. Not quite my gorgeous Meg, but a good likeness when she is trying to be good. The hint of gold is two brads and some ribbom.

This weeks challenge at StudioL3 is distress embossing -found on page43 of TH book. I was pleased my powders arrived and couldn't wait to start using them.[delivered the day after I ordered them from CardCraft-UK and no postage to pay]

The stamps I used are Paper Artsy and Illusive Images. I used Vintage photo embossing powder . I cannot get over the textured feel of my work. Why have I not tried this before, I wonder. The background is coloured with Wild Honey and Vintage Photo ink.

Tuesday Taggers --Anniversary

The challenge this week over on Tuesday Taggers is Anniversary.

This time I have decided to use only paper and card and not reach for my beloved rubber stamps and distress ink. I had this lovely verse that seems to fit the topic, printed onto patterned paper. The flowers are decoupaged, a Martha Stewart border punch to decorate the paper strips, a butterfly and some sparkle complete my card.

Tag you're It- By the Beach

This week over at Tag you're It, the theme is By the Beach.

As we seem to be having a number of lovely warm days, I think this is a super challenge.

The stamps I used for my images are Gertie and Fredo by Art Impressions, I love these two characters. Add a beach hut or two, obviously somewhere to keep her wine cool. I used coptic markers and cosmic shimmer to colour my tag.

ACF 82nd challenge

The challenge this week at Art Creations Friday was to use a beautiful background.

One of my layers I lightened and added elements using a computer generated program. The words relate to friendships being like flowers and continuing to grow. Then mounted onto a layer of the original background, lace, buttons and a flower complete my piece.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Tuesday Taggers-Make a Scene

This week over on Tuesday Taggers the challenge is to Make a scene.

I used Original Art clear stamps, a street from the English Garden series, coloured with coptic markers. The forground on the tag is lighter than it looks here.

Studio L3- challenge 4 -Shabby Chic

Shabby Chic was the challenge I found on page 49 of TH book this week. . So what in my stash did I have to try this out.

I had a piece of grunge paper, which I covered with black acrylic paint. Still no distress embossing ink, but the versamark seems to work okay. I used a favourite floral stamp. My top paint covering is an Adirondack Buttercup dabber. I have used the resulting piece as a layer on a vintage card.

The Craftbarn- shaped card theme

Over at the Craftbarn there is currently a competition to make a shaped card. There are some beautiful examples

I have made a Fan shaped card , a bit of a challenge for me. Each piece was decorated before I added the main images. The stamps I used were old favoutites, including a couple of Stampington and Co. The distress inks were dried marigold and victorian velvet. A stud with Life on it is keeping the tassle in place.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

This is the result, thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Tuesday Taggers -Wedding

This weeks challenge at Tuesday Taggers is a Wedding theme.

The background has a Love poem stamped on it and a piece of certificate paper, and edged with distress ink. The church is a stamped image from a crafting friend. Some lace and flowers for decoration. Now my confession,--a peel off bride and groom, [but coloured with promarkers] don't know how long they have been lurking in my craft stash. Add to that a touch of flower soft on the boquet, completes my tag.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.
