The last theme of the year over at Tuesday Taggers is 'Old Father Time'. Once again our sponsers The Craft Barn are offering a super prize.

A wall hanging is my efforts for this challenge. Using my favourite craft items of the year. Distress inks, a variety of time stamps, embossing folder, die cuts and embellishments. The edge I embossed in gold, but it doesn't show so well on the photo.

Thankyou for for stopping by to take a look, I hope you will join the fun at TT.

Linda over at Studio L3 for week 25 of the Compendium of Curiosities challenge, has us trying out Scribble Stain Distress. All instructions can be found on page 34 of Tim Holtz book.

I have had a few tries and this is my best effort, which I stamped and embellished a bit, to make a tag. The colours of distress ink I used were Shabby Shutters and Pine Needles.

Also the tag fits in with the Stampman Challenge of Anything goes on a tag.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

I hope you all have a Happy Christmas.

The Stockings were hung.............

This weeks theme over at Tuesday Taggers is and 'The Stockings Were Hung' please come and join in the fun.

Christmas is creeping up fast and it will soon be time for Santa to fill those socks.

I have been making place setting gifts for my festive table, here are a few that are nearly finished. The stockings are made with coloured card and cotton wool, stamped and embossed with snowflakes. Each one will contain a small gift, a chocolate and of course the joke, think that is all I can get into something that is only two and a half inches high.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a peep.

Day12- of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags.

Well the marathon tag making challenge has ended with another amazing tutorial from Tim. I have certainly learnt alot over the past 12 days, my 'want, need and must have' list has grown beyond all recognition.

This time, I actually had two items, the backing paper and the calender stamp. But my tag is once again my own version, as all the rest of the ingredients are substitutes.

Thankyou for stopping by yet again to see my tags, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Off now to look at the other tags over at Artyjen's.

Day 10 and Day 11 - tags for Christmas

Two tags today, caught up at last.

Needless to say I didn't have many of the right ingredients, so these are my versions.

Day10- Snowman, I used an old stamp again, stamped onto glitter paper then cut out, the black hat I cut from a piece of leather type material, the crown is another atempt at cutting freehand.

No snowflakes, so I used the swirls embossing folder for the top layer.

Day 11-Pine trees. Another bodged effort. I liked the idea to make your own stamps, but, here was a big empty space in my stash. So the trusty cut your own tree method was applied, I used white embossing powder and glitter for the snowy areas.

I cannot believe that it will be the last day tomorrow, I have realy enjoyed making these tags.

Once again I will be off to Artyjen's to see the fabulous tags made by the splinter group.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

Day 9-12 Tags of Christmas.

Second post today, is my version of Day 9's tag.

For the background I used a favourite word stamp before putting it through the machine in a music embossing folder. Goes without saying I didn't have the die, so spent a while folding a piece of music paper, which seems to have worked. The heart I cut out and embossed, the crown is a waste bin item never to see the light of day. The other things are from my bits and pieces box.

Once again I mention Artyjen's Splinter group and the fantastic tags made by other crafters.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

Day 8- 12 Tags for Christmas

Phew, I am late with this one. It realy caused me to get my thinking cap on, to see what I could use, as once again I had none of the ingredients.

The Santa stamp is very old, no idea who it is by.

I did follow the background process and I did have a couple of metal corners, the houses are a Crafty Individuals stamp, the rest is just what I could find. All finished when I remembered the words Tim used, but only the thought was there to add them.

Artyjen's blog had some amazing tags using Tim Holtz's tutorials.

Thankyou for stopping by to look at my tag

Day7

I am playing catch up, this is my version of yesterdays tag, for the 12 Days of Christmas tags.

Once again it is a bit bodged. The only things I had were the Tattered Floral and swirl dies.

My background is a wood grain paper, the letters chipboard, they look a bit pink on the photo, but they are red. I had some red silky material that I stuck to grunge paper before cutting it. Then, Oh boy! did I find myself in a pickle putting it together, I had more glue on me than the flower.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my tag.

Over at Artyjen's you will find some fantastic tags.

Tuesday Taggers- Deck the Halls

The challenge theme this week over at Tuesday Taggers is Deck the Halls with boughs of Holly. We have a brand new sponser Lovin'Ink please pop over and take a look.

So as the 25th is rapidly getting closer, I thought I should start making the house look a bit more festive. I have had these two wicker shapes, waiting a while to be brightened up. It was amazing how easy it was, a few sprigs of artificial holly [snow is to deep to get looking for fresh] and ribbon. I neglect to say how many times I pricked myself with the wire thats keeping things together, and the star was photographed without its ribbon, but hey, they are now in my hallway and Christmas is on its way.

Thankyou for taking time to have a look.

Day 6- Tim's tags for Christmas

Well here we are, half way through The Twelve Days of Christmas and the amazing tutorials from Tim Holtz.

Once again many substitutes, the only item besides distress inks that I had was the Pine Trees embossing folder. My reindeer is a laser die cut piece, the music from the free sheet I printed yesterday, the rest came from my stash and stamps.

Once again I am mentioning Artyjen's splinter group, and the amazing tags that folk have been making, well worth a visit.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

Day 5 of Tim's tags for Christmas

I should start by saying what I didn't have and didn't do, but, the list would be never ending. Some of the things to substitute were, distress crackle, white utee, a holly stamp and the white stuff for the beard. Here are a few items I did use, the numbers are chipboard with white embossing powder, the music a freebe from Craft Stamper magazine white acrylic paint , green and clear glitter. The edges are a bit pink as it won't take any more distress ink on the paint.

But hey, its my take on todays tag. I am realy enjoying the challenge to use what I have in my stash.

Please pop over to Artyjen's blog and take a look at the fringe group tags.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

Day4 of Tim's Tags for Christmas.

Well. I am a day late , but here is my take on this one.

The only thing I had that vaguely resembled the guide was a sticker of Santa from my seasonal pack. For the background paper I coloured with distress inks. The tile was a fragment piece, but I did have a snowflake stamp, this is my 3rd attempt, as you guessed I didn't find this part easy. The bling is some tiny sequins and pearl dots from a Viva perlen-pen.

Please go look at at Artyjen's blog and see the fabulous tags the splinter group are making.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

3rd Day of Christmas Tag

Day3 of Tim's 12 Days of Christmas.

Well this time I did have a couple of things, the die cut bird and the poster. For the flower I used a die cut poinsettia [ sorry never could spell this one] lightly colouring the edges as Tim's flower looked white. I found some ancient flower soft fot the bird to perch on. I enjoyed making this one.

Off now to look at Artyjen's splinter group to look at the amazing tags over there

Thankyou all who stop by my blog to take a look.

Day 1and 2 of Tags for Christmas

The brilliant Tim Holtz is guiding us through the ' 12Days of Christmas' with some fabulous tags. There is a tutorial posted each day on his blog.

So you guess from my title I am a bit late with my first one.

Although I love his products I do not have as many as I would like. So my tags are made with as much as I can find in my stash , with many improvisations to complete them.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Home

I have been making a few wall hangings this week to add to gifts.

For this one I used Stamps by Tim Holtz and Wendy Vechi. Embossed the die cut bird in gold, using fabric for the Tattered Floral die cut flowers, the other bits and buttons are from my stash.

One of the blogs I have just found Take a Word has a chalenge this week to use the word Home, so I am off to look at the amazing work over there.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look .
