Tuesday Taggers- St.Nicholas Day

Last week Tuesday Taggers Design Team asked me if I would like to join them. You can guess my instant answer of 'Yes Please'. I cannot describe the excitement I felt getting this unexpected invitation. Thankyou all again and I look forward to being a member of such a talented team of crafters.

The Tuesday Taggers challenge theme this week is St Nicholas Day, please pop over and see the super examples and join the fun.

Once again our sponsers The Craft Barn, have donated a gift voucher for their amazing shop.

For my card, one of my layers is an embossed number plate which I double distressed with walnut stain and worn lipstick ink. A fragment tile highlights that special number ,which is fast creeping up on us. I stamped the base layer with a fern stamp by Tim holtz, used a Martha Stewart punch for the border. My image is by Crafty Individuals.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my card.

C. of C. -week 23

Week 23 already, of Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge, over at Studio L3 . This week we are experimenting with Double Distress, - all details of how to do this technique can be found on page 40 of Tim Holtz's book.

I used an embossing folder with vintage writing for my D.D. layer, a picture cut from a sheet of Graphic45 paper, the base card is chocolate brown. The inks I used were vintage photo and walnut stain.

I have made my piece into a card for my OH, who always takes the photos for me and loads them on to the computer, so he has has a sneek peep at his Christmas card, which I may tweek a bit before he gets it.

GC 80 Gingersnap creations Colour challenge this time is Vintage Hues, I think this card will fit this theme as well

Please go visit both these super blogs and see the fabulous examples, and thankyou for stopping by to take a look at mine.

Decorations

Tuesday Taggers- have challenged us this week to make a decoration. I have had these two bird shapes since I visited The Stamp Attic in the summer with every intention of using them before now. On trips round blogland recently I have seen some of these decorated but cannot remember where, but must mention how beautiful they looked.

For my pair of birds I used Viva Decor, copper paint to cover the surfaces. A snowflake stamp which I embossed to decorate, finishing off from the box of bits that I cannot possibly do without.

Keep It Simple has another festive theme this week. The challenge is - Evergreen, there are some super examples , please pop over and take a peep.

For this card I have used only a selection of papers from my Christmas stash, a Martha Stewart punch, a laser cut tree shape and ribbon. I ended up using this format to make 3 more cards, So apart from a couple of specials, I think I have nearly cracked the Christmas card making frenzy.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look at my card.

Christmas Decorations

Winterwonderland is a super blog where Janet inspires folk with her Christmas Challenges. Please go and visit. I always look, but so far have never taken the plunge to join in, that is until today.

The theme this time is, Make a decoration.

I have just started making some Christmas tree hangings, using a Tim Holtz label die as a base shape. Coloured with silver acrylic paint, stamped with a snowflake stamp then distressed with tumbled glass ink. The pictures are Crafty Individuals and are just the right size for the label. The poinsettias , bows and tiny bells are from my stash.

Believe

Challenge 10 over at the Stampman this time is-- Anything by Tim, with a Christmas theme.

Tim Holtz of course, I love using his super stamps and products.

For this card I used piece of card from the new TH Seasonal Paper stack as one of the layers. Using stamps from the Holiday Hideaway collection on the attatched tag, also for the base card. Tumbled glass distress inks shade the edges.

Altered Matchbox

I have just finished this altered Matchbox for a Flikr group Art 'n' Soul swap. It is about 2x3 inches.

I painted the whole box with silver acrylic paint. Used a Paper Artsy word stamp to decorate inside and out. The picture is by Crafty Individuals, which I trimmed with lace. The two small parcels will be a suprise for my swap partner.

This project will also fit the theme of the current challenge at Lets Ink It Up - Recycle It.

Joy

This weeks challenge over at Tuesday Taggers is to include a word in the project. Janet has given us three to choose from, Peace, Love and Joy.

For my card I used a BoBunny stamp for the main image. Mounted it on embossed red card, with Barn Door distress ink round the edges. The chipboard letters I embossed with a deep red embossing powder, my favourite red ribbon completes this card.

C. of C.- Challenge 22

Another fantastic week over at StudioL3. We are up to page 52 in TH's Compendium of Curiosities- Alcohol Ink Splatter. There are some fantastic examples , please go over and take a look.

I had a real fun time with this one, I had to improvise to blow my inks around, its amazing what you can do with the end off an old funnel. I have used one of my pieces to make a Birthday card for an artist friend of mine. She paints delicate botanical flowers, I think she will see the funny side of my efforts.

The light hasn't been so good to photograph things, but this is the best of the bunch.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Wonderland

The theme this week over at Keep It Simple is Wonderland. This challenge is to encourage us to make a card in about 3o minutes. This time I have kept away from my beloved rubber stamps and used an Enchanted Christmas CD by Joanna Sheen. I found a topper I liked , printed it off with the matching papers, a bit of matting and Layering, an edge and a bit of ribbon, then, 'Hey Presto' a real quick card.

Tag Tuesday Challenge-Bingo

On my journey around the super blog challenges, I found this one over at Kardcrazy. It is ages since I used this Tim Holtz stamp, I had a good rummage to find it. Found a few old favourites in my search. I embossed the background and used Vintage Photo and Wild Honey Inks to colour it. The little cutie is all dressed and ready to go off to Bingo, this stamp is from the SWALK collection, coloured with cosmic shimmers.

Away in a Manger

Whenever I use this stamp, I think of the Christmas Carol, Away in a manger.

Again its an old stamp with the makers name so faded that it cannot be read. For this card I followed a Colour Combo challenge over at Tuesday Taggers use, silver, gold and purple, with some stamping. It is a shade of purple for the base card and layer, but the light is so iffy at the moment it didn't photo so well. The gold layer I edged with a Martha Stewart punch, the silver is an edging strip and holly berries. For the stamped image I used chalk to shade, and framed it with a MarianneD die shape.

The challenge at Keep It Simple this week is Shape up, I think this card will fit this theme as well.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

C. of C. challenge 21

Week 21 of this fantastic challenge journey through Tim's Compendium of Curiosities.

Linda over at StudioL3 has chosen Pefect Distress this week, all instructions can be found on page 38.

I have had a few tries at this one, think I am to heavy handed with the water spray. Still none will be wasted as they will make good gift tags.

The colours I used were Vintage Photo and Barn Door inks. Heirloom gold and pewter perfect pearls. The stamps are Tim Holtz , I think Viva Deco, also Crafty Individuals.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

A Christmas Dream

Another Christmas card made today, haven't thought about how many I still have to make.

The stamped image was an old favourite by Inkadinkado. The colours for the matting and layering papers are pale grey, navy, silver and white, it was a Martha Stewart punch for the edging.

C of C -week 20

Week 2o over at Studio L3 has us exploring the delights of Industrial Grunge. All information can be found on page 54 of Tim Holtzs' Compendium of Curiosities. There are some great examples at Linda's , when you pop over to take a look.

I have made my piece into a tree hanging. The shape was made from a TH on the edge die. To colour it, I used silver mixative and tumbled glass ink. Not having all the bits and pieces, I used an old nail file, sandpaper and a pokey tool to aid the distressing. The picture in the frame is from Craft Individuals, and die cut flowers embellishments.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Friendship

This is my take on this weeks challenge theme at Tuesday Taggers "A taste of the Orient". The card is made with a selection of papers etc from my stash. For the central topper I used Kirsten Lapping stamps, ribbon and an oriental coin. It was coloured with cosmic shimmer paint, then shaded with chalk.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.
