TYI-Tag in a Pocket

The challenge theme this week at Tag Your It is to have a tag in a pocket.

I used Elusive Images Halloween stamps, distress inks and cosmic shimmer paints to colour this. The bird on the pocket is embossed
I had a bit of bother loading the photos, hence the picture of the tag itself isnt here.

KIS- Gold Dust

The theme for the challenge at Keep It Simple this week is Gold Dust.

My interpretation was to emboss my main image, by Paper Artsy, with gold powder. Another card made for Christmas, its creeping up fast. I used papers to layer it up and a gold ribbon.

Altered Beer Mats

I love altering beermats to make wall hangings . This one I made for a swap challenge when I went to Cazro's Geordie Meet recently

I used 2 mats, didn't photograph them as I am sure you all know what they look like. I covered them with a plain paper, random stamped and coloured. Added a Crafty Individuals picture to one and stamped out a Love poem by Inca stamps for the other. I edged the mats with lace, added flowers and linked them together with ribbon

The hanging I will be adding to two challenges

Cinnabar

This card I will be putting into two challenges, as I think it fits the the theme for both.

Tuesday Taggers - It Takes all sort and Anything Goes

Lets Ink It Up -Challenge 3- Stamping with a Favourite stamp, with the twist being to add a charm.

There is a link to both challeges in my side bar.

The card is made with an assortment of co-ordinating papers, lace etc. The charm is attatched to the tag. Now my choice of a stamp was difficult, as I have had a few favourites over the years. But I chose Cinnibar by Stampington, and used distress ink around the edges.
Off to pack my craft bag now ready for the Craft Retreat organised by Janet and Michelle, no doubt the contents will be changed a number of times between now and Friday.

Dreaming for Tag You're It

This week over at Tag You're It, the theme is free choice, But, we have been given a colour palate to use. Please pop over to see the super examples.

I used a pre printed base card, that seems to fit the colours, the tag I stamped using a lovely Sugar Nellie stamp called Dreamy. I used cosmic shimmers to colour her in. Now have a chuckle, there I was up close to my computer screen, trying to match my pots of colour , hope I got close.

C. of C.- week 15

Week 15 over at Linda's Studio L3 , has us dipping into page 58 of TH Compendium of Curiosites, -- Alcohol inks on agate grunge.

Oh! the excitement of getting messy again for this challenge. The colours I used were Red Pepper and a little Oregano, the stamp is by B-Line. I am not sure yet whether this is going to end up as a card or a wall hanging , so it is just resting on the black and patterned papers.

K.I.S.-'Bling It'

This Sunday at 'Keep It Simple' the theme of the challenge is to add some Bling.

Once again I have gone for black and white with Christmas in mind. The background I stamped with a snowflake pattern and added the stamped Noel as my main image. Some silver mirri card, a few stones and glitter on the letters are my take on Bling.

The biggest problem was had, when trying to take a photograph, mirri is a right pain, as it either comes out brown or shows reflections, this was the best of many tries. Has anyone any ideas that might solve my dilemma.

T.T.- Diamonds are Forever

The theme of the challenge this week over at 'Tuesday Taggers' is Diamonds are Forever.

My take on the theme was to include a bit of bling on the border of my cut out shapes. In the centre is a simple rose stamp, embossed in black, on a piece of distressed paper.

There is a link in my side bar to the Compendium of Curiosites challenge.

For my efforts at this technique, I used a TH gears mask, sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer-midnightblue and Starburststain,-hydrangea blue. The stamped image is from one of Elusive images new Halloween sheets, then coloured with Cosmic shimmer paint. I hope the words I printed out suit the scene.

Garden Fairy for TYI

The theme this week over at Tag You're It [there is a link in my side bar] is - From the Garden Fairy.

My first reaction to this challenge was, where did I last put my fairy stamp, the rest was easy.

I used my favourite distress colours, dried marigold, bundled sage and wild honey for the background, the words and grasses stamps are Elusive Images, and a bit of glimmer on the wings.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a peep at my tag.

TYI September Tag Swap.

First week of a new month at, Tag You're It, and a new Tag Swap- Autumn Gold.

There is a link in my side bar.

This tag is, made from bits from my ever useful scraps box. I used a mask to create an orange oblong using distress ink, then shaded the rest of the tag with bundled sage and dried marmalade. Its amazing how an Elusive Images tree stamp can be so versatile. I embossed a couple in gold then shadow stamped the background. The leaf is a die cut from a scrap of alcohol inked paper.

Michelle set this weeks theme, 'Books'

The book that gave me inspiration for this tag is- 'The Memory Keepers Daughter' by Kim Edwards.

The background is stamped with script, the little girl image is a Queens Dresser Drawers stamp. I distress embossed the lock and key, the word plate says, 'through the years'. Colouring with dried marigold and wild honey, distress inks and I couldn't resist adding some flowers and lace.

Stampman Challenge 4

The theme this fortnight for the Stampman's Challenge is ' Musical '.

I used stamps from, Aspects of Design Classical plate, a gorgeous selection of stamps. I also added torn vellum and paper flowers. The distress inks I used were, wild honey and vintage photo.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.

Keep it Simple -challenge2

The theme this week for the Keep It Simple's challenge is ' Take a Leaf '.

I used a set of clear leaf stamps that I have had for some time, they are ideal to make a background page as well as a main image. The distress inks I used were bundled sage and forest moss. Forgive the silver peel off [ it works so well as a quick edging], a small bow and leaf charm completed my card which I think, took about 30mins to make.

Lets Ink it Up- challenge2

The new challenge this week at Lets Ink it UP is to make a Tag/Bookmark, the twist is that it must have a Vintage feel/look.

For my book mark, the background stamp is a Love poem by Inka stamps. the embossed seeded grass -Tim Holtz and the vintage lady is a Crafty Individuals stamp. I used distress inks to slightly age it, the piece of lace and tassle are also lightly shaded with distress inks.

C. of C.--week12

The weekly challenge over at Studio L3 is Chipped Enamel found on page 44 of the Compendium of Curiosities.

Another first for me, I used an old 3x3inch photo frame and vintage photo embossing powder.

The stamp I used for the image I think may be a Cherry Pie, it seemed right for the shape of the frame. It was easier to photograph flat, upright the flowers have more depth.

Keep It Simple

My first entry to the new challenge blog called, Keep It Simple . This week its to make a traditional Christmas card, but taking no longer than 30 minutes.

The biggest task for me was to find the box of Christmas goodies I bought last year at the NEC for £5 on the Create and Craft stand. All ready to use stuff. The base card is also ready to use by Kanban.

Well I dont usually do simple, this was made within the time limit, and the more I look at it the more I think it needs. So any comments will be much appreciated.

Ours is a nice house ours is!

A house theme this week, over at Tuesday Taggers, love the challenge title.

I used Elusive Images stamps for my houses and trees. Coloured with promarkers. Shaded with distress inks, the tiny beads in the foreground went everywhere, I maybe should get the hover out, but hey! that takes up valuable crafting time.

The CraftBarn are kindly sponsering this weeks challenge

Tag You're It- create your own background

What fun, this weeks Tag You're It theme, is to create your own background. Never did need an excuse to get messy, will do the ironing tomorrow.

I put a few drops of distress inks on my well used play mat, added some gold blending solution, then dragged, patted and generally dunked a piece of photo paper in the puddle. When dry I stamped the background of an ATC with some french script and roses. The picture of the little girl is from Crafty Individuals, then added a few flowers etc to finish.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look.
